Welcome to Scene Online-Ackworth & District:
Ackworth in West Yorkshire, UK is reputedly the largest village in Europe, and as Ackworth residents ourselves we aim to provide you with the definitive magazine website for the village.

This is the beta version, fully functional but  online prior to the official launch in order to iron out any bugs. Please contact us if you find any broken links, or wish to suggest a feature. Hours, weeks,  months! of preparation have gone into producing the site, we hope you like it and, most importantly, that you use it and find it informative and useful.



Bringing the Community together
With more and more Post Offices and Corner Shops closing down, communities are losing focus and opportunities to keep in touch. We hope to redress this balance by providing an online meeting place where you can find out anything you need to know about the district, keep up with local news and events, find out what shops, trades and services are available and, most importantly, contribute yourself if you wish...


The Community Portal
The Community Portal, accessed by clicking the links above, is a dynamic area of the site where you can register, login and write your own articles, submit news, add listings to Family Notices, such as Births, Marriages etc, write a blog, add a category for your club or society, keep up to date with crime issues with Virtual Neighbourhood Watch, share your favourite recipes, publish your Ackworth photos...the list is endless and we're open to adding more categories if you suggest them.
